Campaign Story

Hello everyone!

My name is Amanda and my husband’s name is Austin.
We have been riding the infertility train for quite some time. Each and every decision we made the last decade was and still is centered around planning for a child of our own. We became concerned when we accumulated a pile of negative pregnancy tests. even after knowing that my labs were normal.

My husband was diagnosed with Globozoospermia on November 1st. His sperm is round-headed instead of oval and unable to penetrate my egg. This also indicates an absence of acrosome or, the important parts of the head, and the sperm can break down prematurely.
After his diagnoses, we were referred to our local fertility center for further medical intervention. We are unable to conceive naturally and need IVF. In vitro fertilisation, known as IVF, is a procedure used to help you get pregnant. In IVF, a human egg is fertilised with sperm in a laboratory then implanted into a uterus.

Austin and I have invested so much into this journey- emotionally, physically and financially and the cost of medical help is becoming increasingly unbearable; even with both of our honest livings and my husband’s health insurance. Most employer’s health insurances do not cover fertility treatments. The average cost of IVF is $30,000 and $2,000 for medication injections. Due to the financial burden we have made the decision to travel out of state to find affordable IVF treatments.

I (Amanda) am scared to create this fundraiser, in fear of what our family and friends will think or assume by asking for financial help however, this is beyond a handout. This is to help us conceive a miracle baby. The lack of support from our health insurance is appalling to us. My husband and I have always found a way financially, since we were both brought up to work hard and make an honest living for ourselves. This is significant since my husband lost both his parents by age 19. I have seen my husband suffer enough trauma and I feel I need to protect his heart from one last rock-bottom tragedy in his life. This is us asking for support at our hardest hurdle in life…to come yet, to help us conceive just ONE baby for us to love and make us a family of three. Even if it’s just $1, it will help us with the cost of traveling out of state, medication injections, my egg retrieval procedure, and the embryo transfer procedure costs. We thank each and every person to help us provide this opportunity to conceive a blessing into our lives and fill our hearts.

With hope,
Amanda and Austin
